In order to take full advantage of your stay in the United States, you should be in excellent health. If you are using any medication on a daily basis, please check with your doctor prior to your departure and purchase any medicine you may need during your stay in the United States. Be sure to bring a complete supply of any prescription medicine you may need; take this medication with you in your carry-on luggage on the plane, in case your checked-in luggage is delayed. If you wear contact lenses or glasses, please make sure to bring an extra pair, because to get them here will be expensive and difficult.
Upon your arrival, you will be issued a health benefits card by the U.S. Department of State that will be valid during the institute. The benefits cover all accidents, illnesses and emergencies. Pre-existing conditions are not covered by the plan. You will be responsible for paying a $15 co-pay for each visit; the health benefits plan will pay the rest of each bill.
